AVID PROGRAM

New Pathways Academy is an Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) authorized school. By being an AVID school we prepare students to be college ready through college skill development enveloped in Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization and Reading ‘WICOR’. WICOR is the core of our instructional practice which you will see across every classroom. AVID also helps build students' socioemotional skills by engaging them with the social skills needed to become successful in a global society.

INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE CANDIDATE SCHOOL

The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program is a framework that provides students the opportunity to connect the content they learn to real-world issues and big ideas. In preparing them to be productive global citizens, the program considers a student’s development holistically: physically, mentally and emotionally. Throughout a student’s journey in our school, they also hone different approaches to learning which are skills such as critical thinking, communication and reflection.
